Last Day in Oslo; Nude Sculptures, Pinchos and the Oslo Philharmonic!

We started the day with another fabulous “free” breakfast buffet. I still marvel at the abundance, variety, and flavor of all of the food offered. I highly recommend The Clarion: The Hub in Olso; everything about it was perfect!

After breakfast, we decided to walk to Vigeland Park. It is a sculpture park with the works of Norway’s most famous sculpture artist. It was about an hour's walk through lovely neighborhoods, other parks, and a public swimming pool and tennis courts.

Upon arrival at the park, one thing was clear. Vigeland is very proud of his naked sculptures! Men, women, children, young and old, all nakie! And soooo many sculptures all in different poses.

We enjoyed walking across the bridge and followed it up to the fountain and tower of nude cement people. It was both impressive and thought-provoking at the same time. I was especially amused by the man with four little kids hanging all over him; it looked like he was kicking one to the curb!

Next to the park was a little festival for all of Norway's adorable, blonde children. Face painting, games, and even a cross-country ski track. I do not know if I have ever seen so many beautiful, blonde people in one place.

We decided to take a different route home and stopped for our afternoon Kafe and pastry and enjoyed the rest and atmosphere. Once refreshed we hoofed back to our hotel for a little rest before heading to Pincho for dinner.

This was a different experience. It is an APP only restaurant, meaning if LeeAnn was not with me, I would not have been able to eat there, as I do not have a cell phone! The ambiance of this tapas restaurant is amazing; playful, colorful and circus-themed themed which we loved.

We ordered 6 different tapas and loved every single one. I think the fries and wings were my faves. It was interesting how you ordered your food on your app and then they texted you when it was ready so you can pick it up. 100% self-serve; it felt a bit impersonal and cold despite the joyful atmosphere. I am not certain of my overall opinion but the atmosphere was a 10, the food a 7, and the friendliness and welcoming committee a 1.

After dinner, there was a free concert, at the palace, by the Oslo Philharmonic. It was fabulous! For those who did not know, LeeAnn is an outstanding flutist and studied performance at CSLB, so to be able to enjoy this open-air concert on our last night in Oslo made this jaunt end perfectly.

Today we walked over 22k steps! I can hardly believe it!

We loved everything about Oslo, the scenery, the people, the history, the art and the food! Thank you, Oslo for sharing your beautiful city with us.

Next stop Gothenburg, Sweden!

Night y’all!
